Port ship shore power system project

Project overview
Build a high-voltage shore power system for 2 container berths, support frequency conversion and voltage conversion, adapt to ships of different nationalities, and support metering and billing and remote monitoring functions.
Indonesia fit
Solve the problem of inconsistent voltage, frequency, interface, billing and acceptance data for ships of different nationalities for port customers, and avoid that a single shore power equipment can only serve a few ship types; the solution adapts to salt spray, high humidity, PLN access and maritime/port multi-department acceptance in Indonesian ports, and is equipped with local spare parts and remote monitoring after-sales.
Professional configuration and standards
The shore power system refers to IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005, IEC 62271, IEC 61439, IEC 60076 and IEC 60529 configuration, supporting 6kV/10kV, 380/440V, 50/60Hz variable frequency and voltage conversion; outdoor equipment adopts C5-M Heavy salt spray anti-corrosion, IP55/IP65, anti-condensation and stainless steel key parts, complete voltage resistance, insulation, frequency conversion output, synchronous switching, measurement accuracy, grounding and salt spray protection tests.
Key specification comparison table
| Configuration items | common practice | Optimized delivery specifications and value |
|---|---|---|
| Ship adaptation | Fixed 50Hz or single voltage | 6kV/10kV, 380/440V, 50/60Hz covering most ship types |
| Anti-corrosion level | Ordinary outdoor anti-corrosion | C5-M heavy salt spray anti-corrosion + stainless steel key components |
| Billing and settlement | Manually record electricity usage | 0.5S level metering + remote billing to reduce settlement disputes |
Delivery challenges and solutions
a.Challenge: Ships calling at the port come from all over the world, with different voltage and frequency standards and poor adaptability.
Solution: It adopts a frequency conversion and voltage integrated design, covering 6kV/10kV high voltage, 380V/440V low voltage and 50Hz/60Hz frequency, and the ship adaptation coverage rate reaches more than 95%.
b.Challenge: In the salt spray and humid environment of the port, equipment corrodes quickly and has a short lifespan.
Solution: The entire set of equipment undergoes heavy salt spray anti-corrosion treatment, and key components are made of stainless steel, extending the service life of the equipment by 2 times.
c.Challenge: The acceptance process between the Indonesian Maritime Safety Administration and the Port Authority is complex and involves multiple departments.
Solution: Dedicated personnel worked with the maritime, port, and PLN departments throughout the entire process to sort out the acceptance criteria in advance, and the project passed in one go.
Project results
The utilization rate of shore power has been increased by 3 times, and annual carbon emissions for a single berth have been reduced by more than 1,000 tons; intelligent billing and settlement has been resolved with zero disputes, and financial reconciliation efficiency has been increased by 80%.
